Workday - Unified ERP Program - USG Initiative

Effective July 2028, the 25 institutions within the University System of Georgia (USG) will transition to Workday.

The Unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program intends to replace the current institutional legacy systems (PeopleSoft and OneUSG Connect) for human capital management and financials. This program will streamline core business processes and unify technology into a single, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution.

The transition to Workday is one of the most significant operational changes across USG and it touches how we manage HR, Finance, and other core business processes. It is a way to start learning before the pressure of go-live and to be informed one topic at a time.

This change is set to provide a single unified cloud-based system and provide a modern, intuitive and mobile-friendly user experience while standardizing core business processes and policies across all institutions. Going from multiple systems to one.

There are three various roles that work in partnership to support and serve as the liaison between the institution and USG:

  • Institutional Sponsors: Provide executive leadership and strategic alignment, and advocate for the program.
  • Institutional Leads: Act as project managers at the institutional level, coordinating day-to-day activities, connecting with the program team, and ensuring readiness for key milestones.
  • Institutional OCM (Organizational Change Management) Leads: Drive stakeholder engagement, communications, and change readiness activities.

AMSC Institutional Sponsor and Institutional Lead: Timika Boykin
