Title IX Reporting Options
Title IX reporting options generally involve reporting instances of sex or gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual violence to the Title IX Coordinator. These reports can be made through various channels, including online forms, in-person meetings, or by contacting the Title IX Coordinator directly. An institution is required to act when it becomes aware of a sexual misconduct complaint.
Institutional Reporting:
- Report to a Responsible Employee (such as a supervisor or administrator).
- Report to the Title IX Coordinator or their designee.
- Report directly to the Office of Human Resources & Title IX (this is separate from law enforcement reports).
- Employees must report any known sexual misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator without delay.
How to Report Sexual Misconduct
Legal Considerations
- There is no time limit for reporting, but delays can make investigations more difficult.
- Students reporting misconduct will not be punished for admitting drug or alcohol use in their complaint.
- Reports can be anonymous, understand anonymity may limit the College's ability to respond.
Confidentiality
- Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) Title IX office ensures that information is shared only with employees who need to be involved in responding to a report. The relevant details are also shared with the Complainant, Respondent, and their advisors during the investigation.
