Atlanta Technical College and Atlanta Metropolitan State College Sign Articulation Agreement to Strengthen Student Transfer Pathways
Atlanta, GA - Atlanta Technical College (ATC) and Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) have entered into a new Articulation Agreement designed to create seamless transfer pathways and expand academic opportunities for students pursuing higher education in the metro Atlanta area. The signing ceremony was held on October 8, 2025, at Atlanta Technical College, where Dr. Victoria Seals, President of ATC, and Dr. Ingrid Thompson-Sellers, President of AMSC, formally signed the agreement.
Through this partnership, students who complete select associate degree programs at Atlanta Technical College will have a clear and efficient path to transfer into related bachelor's degree programs at Atlanta Metropolitan State College-specifically in Film & Entertainment B.S, Business Administration BBA, Biological Sciences B.S., Criminal Justice B.S., Organizational Leadership B.S. and the new Teacher Education Program in Elementary and Special Education B.S. with Teacher Certification. "This agreement allows our students to stay in the neighborhood and move on to pursue their bachelor's degrees" stated Dr. Victoria Seals. "We are two institutions and one community."
The articulation ensures that qualifying credits earned at ATC will seamlessly transfer to AMSC, minimizing duplication of coursework and saving students valuable time and financial resources on their path toward degree completion. The institutions, which have shared a beautiful campus location on Metropolitan Parkway SW for over fifty years, both serve traditional and first-generation college students, along with veterans and adult learners.
"Our students have always wanted to collaborate and share resources across the institutions," said Dr. Ingrid Thompson-Sellers. "Students are driving this opportunity with SGA Presidents having conversations about collaborations and partnerships." This agreement strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two institutions and reinforces their shared mission to increase access, improve completion rates, and support Georgia's workforce and economic development goals.
The partnership also reinforces both the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and the University System of Georgia (USG) missions to expand access to higher education, build stronger community and industry connections, and prepare students for leadership roles in Georgia's growing economy. Both Presidents recognized and thanked their respective Chief Academic Officers for leading the charge to bring this articulation to fruition.
