AMSC Set to Launch First Bachelors Program

Description of the New Biological Science Bachelor's Program

The Bachelor of Science in Biological Science (BS) is a four year research-based program that will prepare students to either enter the workforce with a bachelor’s degree, or transfer to professional or graduate programs. The BS program will prepare students for programs such as medical, dental, and pharmacy school, or graduate school, in cell or molecular biology. Students will matriculate through courses such as Microbiology, Genetics, Physiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology. Crucial to any science or science related career is experiential learning. Through sequential research courses, beginning in the junior year, for two years, students will be engaged in cutting edge research that will provide them practical application of principles and theories learned in their content courses. Along with these experiences, it is expected that students will make presentations of their research among professionals and peers at local, regional or national conferences. This is a 120 credit hour program.
