Meet President Gary A. McGaha
Dr. Gary A. McGaha is the third President of Atlanta Metropolitan State College. The Office of the President is the executive head of the institution and of all its departments, exercising such supervision and direction to promote the efficient operation of the institution. The President is responsible to the Chancellor for the operation and management of Atlanta Metropolitan State College and for the execution of all directives of the Board of Regents.
Prior to his presidency at Atlanta Metropolitan State College, President McGaha served as assistant to the president and assistant professor of community health and preventive medicine at the Morehouse School of Medicine. . Before this, Dr. McGaha’s administrative experience in higher education was at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY., where he served as associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Chair of the Department of History and Political Science, and Administrative Assistant to the President and Assistant Professor of political science.
The President's Cabinet is composed of the executive leadership of the College, which consists of the Vice Presidents of the College: The President's Cabinet provides primary advice to the College President on all matters relating to Atlanta Metropolitan State College. The President's Cabinet conducts the College's Budget Hearing/State of the Unit event, which occurs on an annual basis, where units of the College present budget requests, SWOT analysis, as well as long term (strategic) and short term (tactical) planning and assessment activities.
