About the Centercfe

The Atlanta Metropolitan State College Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a resource center for existing and future entrepreneurs. The center is operated by the faculty of the Division of Business and Computer Science and is located on the first floor of the Science lecture building in room 162.

The Center will offer credit and non-credit classes on various aspects of entrepreneurship including, but not limited to, management, accounting, marketing, and finance. The Center will also offer a wide range of activities, programs, speakers, and community outreach.events

Mission

To provide existing and future entrepreneurs with the tools and skills needed to successfully establish, operate and grow a business.

Goals

The overarching goals of the Center are to be recognized as one of the premier centers in the field of entrepreneurship and to increase enrollment in the Business Administration degree program.

Objectives

  1. To foster entrepreneurial creativity, incubate viable concepts, and assist in the success of entrepreneurial ventures.
  2. To provide "low cost" educational opportunities to existing and future entrepreneurs.
  3. To provide networking opportunities.
  4. To provide opportunities to learn about effective and ethical business practices.

  • African American business grew to 1.2 million firms in 2002, up 45% from 1997; and they experienced the largest growth in revenues, up 30% from 1997 to $93 billion?
  • 10.6 million firms are at least 50% owned by a woman or women? About 85-90% of the microenterprises are owned by women. In Georgia, women-owned firms accounted for 44.2% of Georgia's privately-held companies.
