AMSC FACULTY/STAFF NEW EMAIL SYSTEM ACCESS

In an effort to provide enhanced services, the Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) Office of Management Information Systems (MIS) migrated the faculty/staff email system on April 14, 2014 to the hosted Microsoft Office 365 online platform. Microsoft Office 365 offers a host of feature rich services.

Please review the following brief overview regarding the new faculty/staff email system features followed by the links for accessing your account.

Microsoft Web Applications:

MS Outlook

Microsoft Outlook (Not the full desktop client)
Provides business-class email, personal and shared calendars, 50 GB of storage email space per user account.

MS Word MS Excel MS PowerPoint MS OneNote

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote (Not the full desktop client)
Create and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote files via a web browser.

MS Word

Microsoft OneDrive
Provides 7 GB of personal file storage

MS Lync

Microsoft Lync
Conduct meetings over the web, screen sharing, and instant messaging.

 

Following are procedures to login to your new Office 365 account:

Step 1: If you know your AMSC faculty/staff/departmental email address and new initial Office 365 password proceed to Step 3.

Step 2: Contact AMSC MIS personnel in the Library/Administration building, room L-133.

 

Step 3: Note there is no co-branding in Office 365, so you will not see AMSC logos on the web interface. Click the following picture or link to login using your complete email address (username@.atlm.edu) and your password. When you login for the first time the system will require you to change the MIS supplied password. Please make special note of the password requirements. The system will also guide you through additional procedures.
