Early College at AMSC

Admissions Requirements

The Early College program at Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) allows students to take college course credits which can applied toward both satisfying high school credits and towards a college degree. Early College is a smart way to reduce the price of education, and reduce the time to completing a college degree.

Students must meet the below eligibility to be considered for admissions into AMSC's Early College Program.

* Must attend: Maynard Jackson High School | Booker T. Washington | Carver Early College | D.M. Therrell High School

* Have the minimum ACCUPLACER scores of Elementary Algebra-67; Reading Comprehension-61; WritePlacer-5.

* A minimum high school academic GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in core high school courses.

*Students must be on track to complete high school graduation requirements.


AMSC offers over 46 programs of study and a bachelor's program in Biological Science. As you explore the benefits of a dual enrollment, remember that most associate degrees consist of 60 academic credits, 42 of which are called general education credits, and 18 credits relatd more specifically to the program that you choose.
