President McGaha Awarded During "Hard Hat" Awards Banquet

 


Atlanta Metropolitan College President Gary A. McGaha, Ph.D. was recently awarded the National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) “Advocacy Award”, during the 13th Annual “Hard Hat” Awards Banquet.

The “Advocacy Award” recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in initiating changes for the betterment of the community. “President McGaha has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to supporting the ongoing efforts of minority business owners, as well as empowering future leaders. He is well deserving of this special recognition and honor.”

Established in 1969, NAMC serves as the voice of the minority contractors nationally.

Its mission is to provide education and training, as well as developing procurement and contracting opportunities for its members. Other community leaders recognized during the dinner and awards ceremony were Dr. Beverly L. Hall, Superintendent for Atlanta Public Schools, with the Public Sector Award. Mr. Daniel J. Mallow, P.E. Assistant General Manager/Planning & Development Department of Aviation for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with the Catalyst Award and Mr. Joe Jackson, President/CEO Greater Atlanta Economic Alliance, Inc. with the Business Development Award. Mr. Jackson also serves as a Director on the Atlanta Metropolitan College Foundation, Inc.
