The GAME/Center for Entrepreneurship aims to provide minorities who wish to start small businesses with the skills, training, services, resources, and referrals you need to successfully start and operate thriving business enterprises. We want to help you identify and intensify opportunities for your own business.
• Georgia continues to lead the nation in the number of small businesses being established? Small business owners-women, minorities, and home-based individuals fuel the economy.
• African American business grew to 1.2 million firms in 2002, up 45% from 1997; and they experienced the largest growth in revenues, up 30% from 1997 to $93 billion?
• 10.6 million firms are at least 50% owned by a woman or women? About 85-90% of the micro enterprises are owned by women. In Georgia, women-owned firms accounted for 44.2% of Georgia's privately-held companies.
